Supervision

As therapists, we have the honor of guiding people as they wrestle with some of life’s most challenging questions.

We get to sit with them in some of their most vulnerable moments, and support them in living into a more fulfilling, compassionate, and empowered relationship with self and other. Some times being a counselor can also be maddeningly hard, complex, uncertain, and heartbreaking work.

Throughout my career, receiving good supervision has been vital to my success with clients. It’s been supportive of my own well-being as a therapist and preventative of burnout. At times, it’s been crucial in my own continuation as a clinician, when I have been confronted by very complicated and difficult clinical cases and clients.

What is Supervision?

Good supervision is multifaceted; it must address both cognitive understanding of what’s happening (top-down) as well as direct, experiential self-awareness for the therapist (bottom-up).

It should guide the clinician into deeper understanding of psychological theory as well as support the therapist in working with their own counter-transference, and self-as-therapist issues. It should also help the therapist continue to discover and refine who they are as a unique clinician.

Whether you are moving towards licensure and need approved supervision hours, or you are simply seeking extra support and nuanced perspective from an outside source, I am passionate about working with clinicians as they work with others.

My areas of expertise include:

  • Relationships and Attachment (PACT Level 2 trained, as well as EFT Core Skills)
  • Intimacy and Sexuality
  • Trauma (EMDR, Life Span Integration, IFS, Gestalt Trained)
  • Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Psychedelic Integration
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Spirituality and Meditation
  • Personal Growth

I work both top-down (conceptually) and bottom-up (experientially). In my opinion the blend of cognitive understanding with in-the-moment direct experience creates a very powerful approach to change, healing, and growth. I bring my eclectic background of wide-ranging trainings and studies into what I offer the clinicians that I support.

Supervision and Consultation – What is the difference?

Supervision is typically utilized for folks who are moving towards their Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure. If we decide to work together in this capacity, you would be practicing under my license until you earned your own. Because I am a LPC I can only provide approved supervision hours for other LPC candidates.

Consultation, on the other hand, is available for any practicing psychotherapist, regardless of degree, who is seeking to sharpen their skill set and be supported as they grow their capacity and expertise as clinicians.

I offer both individual supervision or consultation billed at my hourly rate, or group supervision at $70/1.5 hours.

Group Supervision

Group supervision can provide a powerful space to support and be supported by peers as you continue to hone your skills, refine your clinical understanding, and grow your capacity as a unique clinician.

Private practice can be isolating at times, and having a space to consult with others can be so helpful. In group sup, peers can reflect back to you your successes, offer insights and questions to help you take your work to the next level with your clients. Within group sup, everyone continues growing and forming a more complete understanding of what you’re doing as a clinician. It is also a very cost effective way of receiving supervision and moving towards licensure.
